Passionate Advocates for peace of mind
While E-commerce continues to evolve, shipping insurance and claims handling have remained complicated and behind the times. Until now! – Dylan Scott President of Parcel Shield Insurance Services
The Fearless Leader
When Dylan Scott started out in the insurance industry over twelve years ago, he was not surprised to discover he had a passion for the business; a passion that continues to grow because he’s always had an insatiable desire to help people. Dylan gets great satisfaction from being a voice for those facing challenging circumstances and gains personal gratification by streamlining processes and designing creative solutions that enable long-term growth.
When he was a fledgling in the business, Dylan fielded countless insurance claim questions and concerns. This direct experience imparted understanding and empathy towards his client’s fears and expectations.
He then transitioned to sales where he discovered his knack for predicting potential problems and confidently proposing solutions to a wide variety of clients. Upon arriving to sales, he had an advantage because he developed a talent for predicting problems that could arise which enabled him to offer ideal and cost-effective solutions.
Dylan’s biggest challenge came when he began his career in shipping insurance: it was an entirely new language with many facets and much to learn. However, he had incredible industry mentors who not only taught him how to expertly navigate his clients through difficult circumstances but also to take the opportunity to forge lasting relationships with many of the leading E-commerce solution providers.
Dylan’s ultimate goal is to afford his clients the same level of assurance, careful communication, due diligence, and transparency he would want for himself if the roles were reversed. He believes that every ounce of effort he performs behind the scenes translates into measurable simplicity for his clients which develops strong and trusting partnerships.
When in doubt, I prefer to under promise and overdeliver, which limits a client's risk, ensures their success, and adds the maximum value possible. – Dylan Scott
The Original Passionate Advocate
Some say Kevin Bogart has a sixth sense about turning risk into opportunity. He is the CEO of Wood Gutmann & Bogart Insurance Brokers. As a licensed CPA, Kevin uses his number crunching abilities to make sure that each client’s insurance coverage adds up to a smart business strategy for reducing liability and unplanned expenses. Kevin works with many large clients with sophisticated needs, especially in the construction, manufacturing, hospitality, service, and entertainment industries.
Kevin’s youthful appearance belies the fact that he has been with Wood Gutmann & Bogart for more than two decades, having previously worked with CNA Insurance as a large line underwriter of commercial and property and casualty insurance coverages for construction operations throughout California.
Kevin is a graduate of the University of Southern California with a Bachelor of Science in business and accounting, later continuing his education with graduate school courses at the Peter F. Drucker Graduate School of Business Management at Claremont Colleges.
The Sage of Sales
As the President of Wood Gutmann & Bogart, Scott thrives on sharing his expertise not only with his clients, but also with WGB’s growing team of brokers, which he has been leading and motivating for the past nine years. He characterizes the firm as being “big enough to have the market clout to negotiate favorable terms and pricing, but small enough to offer clients a consistent point of contact and personalized attention.”
Scott is also responsible for information technology decisions at WGB, where he focuses on managing and maintaining fast, efficient agency operations and improving client service through such industry innovations as CSR24 online certificate generating software.
As a licensed CPA, Scott began his career as an auditor at KPMG Peat Marwick, later taking on a financial management role at Orange County’s most venerable land developer, The Irvine Company. Four years after joining the real estate innovator, Scott began to realize that something was missing for him – the opportunity to work with a wider variety of clients in a consulting capacity.
Scott is a graduate of the University of Southern California with a degree in accounting.
The Secret Weapon
With over forty years in the risk management and insurance industry, Mr. Hainlen offers a wealth of experience to clients, while enlisting a consultative approach to assist them in implementing cost management and process improvement strategies.
Norm’s passion is alternative funding techniques. Whether high deductibles, self-insurance, groups, captives, or other creative programs, he presents plans designed to offer clients more than just traditional guaranteed cost insurance placements.
As a consultant, he has provided valued services to many leading companies, including Universal Protection Service, Wells Fargo Bank, Northrup, Hughes Aircraft Co., Ralph’s Grocery Company, and others.
Having extensive experience with larger risk management oriented clients, Mr. Hainlen targets clientele seeking to understand and potentially enlist alternative funding approaches supported by financial modeling, forecasting and actuarial based accrual analyses. These more sophisticated funding methods then require his experience in implementing effective risk management controls that exceed expectations.
After graduating from Colorado State University with a Bachelor of Science in Manufacturing Management, Mr. Hainlen began his career with large insurance carriers, then transitioning to national brokerage firms (Johnson & Higgins, A&A and Marsh), gaining the knowledge and capability to provide valued services to a broad spectrum of clients.
The Social Butterfly
As the Director of Corporate Communications & Strategic Relations, Kathleen Kozlowski wears too many hats to count. She began her insurance career 30 years ago, as an underwriter, and soon transitioned to working in account management roles for top insurance brokerages, including Marsh and Willis. She later became a business relationship manager for large clients in the financial services sector, where she helped institutions like JP Morgan and Wells Fargo to insure properties and other assets held within legal trusts.
At Wood Gutmann & Bogart, Kathleen is the firm’s trump card for building relationships with clients, carriers and other partners – but she spends just as much time refining an arsenal of marketing tools to support WGB’s sales team and executive partners.
While Kathleen is often tapped for new roles and projects, she never leaves her relationships behind. Her approach is to build friendships that last decades, saying simply, “I like to get to know people.”
